Saturday
May 3, 2008
Noon to 4pm
St. Vincent de Paul Resource Center

Empty Bowls is an international potter's fundraiser to feed the hungry. Empty Bowls, Utah continues this worldwide tradition. Join us for a simple meal of soup and bread and choose from hundreds of handmade bowls. Take one home (or a whole stack) at $15 each.

We want to thank Red Kiln for sponsoring this year's bowl-a-thon where local artists made over 100 bowls to add to the stack!

May 29 Board of Trustees Meeting

June 7 BOX SOCIAL

It’s a perfect Saturday for potters and their significant others. Great food, good friends and an exchange of artwork. What more could you want?

This year we are "Thinking Outside the Box". Bring a piece of your work in the theme of a box to participate in the box exchange. Don’t make boxes? A box can be much more than a cube with a lid. Last year Matt McNaughtan’s Box Cubed was a sculpture of a boxer on a crate box holding a dog (a boxer, of course!) How far can you push the boundaries of the theme?

After a nice meal, we will vote on the favorites of the night and then exchange boxes by random drawing. The event will be held at Judy Wolbach’s lovely, art filled house again this year (153 C Street in Salt Lake City.) Remember: A box is only required to participate in the box exchange. If your box does not get done in time, you are still welcome to join us for food and friends. See you all there!
