Randi Lile was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended the University of Utah and received a BFA in Art Teaching with emphasis in ceramics. She is currently the studio assistant at the Red Kiln Pottery Studio, where she teaches classes. Randi also teaches adult pottery classes through Granite District Community Education and has served as an “Artist in Residence” at Rowland Hall.

Randi enjoys working in a variety of art mediums including batik, painting, printmaking, and photography, but ceramics is at the top of her list. She likes to make functional wheel-thrown work, but her passion is creating ceramic sculptures. She likes the flexibility and freedom that clay allows for sculpture. She enjoys the process of making a ceramic piece and analyzes what can be done at each step along the way. Many of Randi’s ceramic sculptures are narrative and challenge the viewer to think about the idea behind the work of art.
